BADHON Manob Unnayan Sangstha is trying   to establish social awareness of the south-west  region  of Bangladesh at Bagerhat District in Bangladesh since June’ 2001 .Organized livelihood underprivileged people and make a group for livelihood program. Besides livelihood , organization implemented also  Health &  Hygienic related issue, Non-formal Primary Education ,Human rights,  Child Rights , Good Governance, Domestic Violence, Ecological Agriculture, Natural Disaster, HIV/AIDS and  gender mainstreaming issues are implemented.  In 2003  organization was going to established against trafficking  through   ATSEC  Bangladesh  networking activities. In 2004 organization was going to established Human Rights Education Project. Now We  are trying to established basic human rights, governance  and secure livelihood.

To create a society where people can lead a dignified life free from all forms of discrimination,

Mission:

Badhon’s mission is to work in a participatory and sustainable way with disadvantaged and minority people to alleviate poverty and improve access to Human Rights

Current Major Activities

  1. Human rights education, particularly stopping violence against women and children
  2. Promoting  Science Education in Secondary School.
  3. 3. Good governance program at Union Parishad (UP) level – working with  Ruapantar as lead NGO and four community partner NGOs in SCORE (Strengthening Communities’ Rights and Empowerment) Project. Managed by Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) with funding from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
  4. HIV/AIDS awareness and primary health care delivery
  5. Non- formal primary Education
  6. Voter Education
  7. Sanitation for Disaster prone area
  8. Training for entrepreneurial development and ecological agricultur

5-Year Plan:

  • Continuation and strengthening of current programs and activities
  • Sanitation program encompassing hygiene, rain water harvesting
  • Non-formal education and advocacy for underprivileged children so their employment can be maximized and labour laws observed
  • Literacy and vocational training for adults
  • Environmental education and disaster management
  • Drug and detoxification awareness and clinic
  • Social forestation program
  • Gender sensitization program
  • Formation of theatre group for cultural activities and awareness raising
