Project Grants
The Bangladesh Freedom Foundation provides support to organizations registered with the Department of Social Welfare or NGO Affairs Bureau. Grant sizes range between Taka 400,000 to 800,000 per annum and are typically provided for a three year cycle with possibility for extension. The Foundation is presently not soliciting any new proposals.
Financial Support
Program/Project Grants
o Grants are provided for programs/projects that promote community ownership by drawing on voluntary contributions for labour, financing, materials, leadership and other forms of support.
Grant funded initiatives must also fulfil the following conditions:
- Addresses a specific social problem.
- Impacts (or has the potential to impact) society at large, particularly disadvantaged or socially excluded groups.
- Engages with the public.
The Bangladesh Freedom Foundation does not support any initiative or organization whose work is contrary to the principles of equality and respect for all religious, cultural and ethnic groups. It does not support any form of religious, ethnic, sectarian, racial discrimination or extremism, nor partisan political agendas.
Other Grants
The Bangladesh Freedom Foundation also provides small grants for (i) research and documentation of philanthropy, (ii) advocating for the greater practice of philanthropy, and (iii) improving organizational capabilities for raising resources.
