AFAD came into existence in 1998 as a voluntary organization with the under taking to empower the destitute and neglected portion of women of Kurigram district who are deprived from rights and to ensure equal rights and opportunities for them

Mission:  Our mission is to enhance the status of women in a way that will lead them to the state of authority of Governing and organization their own circumstances.

Objectives: Numerous research findings have made AFAD to believe that establishing women rights and empowerment can only be achieved through social revolution.

Vision:  Our vision is to catalyze a social revolution to drive away all the evil systems of subordination oppression and dissemination from our society shaping the society habitable for both men and women.

Status of Organizational Policies:

AFAD has Organizational Management Policy, Human Resource Policy, and Financial Management Policy Gender Policy & Child Right Proction policy

Major Achievement:

AFAD has so far been able to development 750 women entrepreneurs and have brought them under credit scheme through skill development training.
