‘Satyen Bose Science Camp 2012’ held on March 22-24, 2012

Science is regulating each and every task, thought, idea, sorrow or happiness of our everyday life. This is fact but the alarming concern is that students of our secondary and higher secondary level are losing interest in sciences education. To popularize science among new generation students Bangladesh Freedom Foundation, in collaboration with Biggan Janapriokaran Samity, for the first time in Bangladesh organized a three day long science Camp namely ‘Satyen Bose Science Camp 2012’ from March 22 to 24, 2012 at Gono Shastha Kendra, savar. Bangladesh Mathematic Olympiad Committee provided academic support to the program with their training resources and volunteers.
Samson H. Chowdhury, Chairman of Square Group of Industries and Trustee of Bangladesh Freedom Foundation (BFF) passes away January 05, 2012. We convey our deepest condolences for this visionary, entrepreneurial and an inspirational icon leader for the future generation.
We pray for eternal peace of the departed soul and convey profound sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.

A Round Table Discussion on situation of Science education and Recommendations (Madhyomic Porjaye Biggan Shikhar Oboshtha ebong Karonio) held at National Press Club VIP lounge at 11 am on December 28, 2011. Rashed Khan Menon, Chairman to the Parliamentary Standing Committee for Education; eminent Educationist Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, Executive Director of TIB and Trustee, BFF; Dr. M Mahbub-ul-Alam, Professor, St. Francies University, USA, Sikander Dara Samsuddin, formar professor of Jahangirnagar University; Samsul Alam, Professor, Jahangirnagar University were among the distinguished guests.
Discussion Meeting on 'Monga Mokabelay Community Dhan Bank' project’
Written by AdministratorA discussion meeting on draft evaluation report of `Monga Mokabelay Community Dhan Bank project’ supported by Bangladesh Freedom Foundation held on November 2011 afternoon at BFF meeting room. Md. Tarikul Islam, Assistant Professor, Department of Finance & Banking, Jahangirnagar University, has evaluated the project and presented his report at the meeting.
Sazzadur Rahman Chowdhury, Executive Director, BFF, chaired the meeting.
BFF team met Parliamentary Standing committee for Ministry of Education.
Written by Morshed AlamRashed Khan Menon MP , Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee for Ministry of Education express his concern on deteriorating condition of Science education in Secondary level education in Bangladesh especially commenting on the fact that The decreasing rate of science students is 31.33 percent in the last eight years In SSC level exam.
MP stressed on mutual and integrated initiatives of Government and Non-government agencies to overcome this alarming situation. A team of BFF along with a number of journalists met him at his parliament chamber on October 26, 2011. Executive Director of BFF Mr. Sazzadur Rahman Chowdhury led the BFF team.
Bangladesh Freedom Foundation organized Yearly Partners’ Meeting on October 22, 2011 at the CAMPE Auditorium in Mohammadpur, Dhaka.
The National Science Olympiad 2012 held at BUET Campus on January 27, 2012

The BAS Science Olympiad 2012 (NSO 2012) was held successfully this year both at the divisional level and national level. The Divisional Science Olympiad 2012 was held in 14 Centers (3 centers in the metropolitan Dhaka and 11 centers throughout the country ) covering the remote areas, like Mongla Port in the Southwest, Bandarban, Khagrachari in the Southeast, Sylhet in the Northeast and Rajshahi in the Northwest region of the country.
