Bangladesh Freedom Foundation (BFF)

Bangladesh Freedom Foundation (BFF) is an independent grant-making organization governed by a voluntary board of trustees. The Foundation was formed as a trust under Bangladesh law in September 1997 and registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau of the Government of Bangladesh in April 1998.

Bangladesh Freedom Foundation invests in programs that work towards freeing people from poverty, ignorance and oppression. The Foundation does not support any initiative or organization whose work is contrary to the principles of equality and respect for all religious, cultural and ethnic groups. It does not support any form of religious, ethnic, sectarian, racial discrimination or extremism, nor partisan political agendas.Bangladesh Freedom Foundation operates from an endowment grant provided by the Ford Foundation and welcomes collaborative grant-making with institutions that share similar goals and interests. BFF, in collaboration with The Society for the Popularization of Science, Bangladesh (SPSB) organized Junior Science Olympiad for the first in Bangladesh on August 20, 2015 at Dhaka Teachers’ Training College Auditorium. This is the part of International Junior science Olympiad (IJSO). A team consist of the winners will attend the 12th IJSO to be held in Seoul, South Korea.  One of the major aims was to encourage children and teenagers of our country in science education.

Honorable Education Minister Mr. Nurul Islam Nahid MP attended the closing session and awarded 13 students of junior category, 22 of Secondary category and 10 of special category.

Bangladesh Freedom Foundation organized its Partners’ Meeting on August 14-16, 2015 at PTRC, Satkhira.

All staffs of PSE along with the Chief executives of the partner organizations attended the meeting. Mr. Sazzadur Rahman Chowdhury, Executive Director of BFF moderated the meeting and discussed various issues of project management of the programme. He also clarified BFF’s field observations relating to PSE project implementation. He intensely discussed the future interventions of BFF with the partners.

BFF organized a ‘Motivation Training to Improve the Professional Skill of the selected Science Teachers of secondary schools of Kurigram, Bagerhat and Rajshahi districts on June 13-15, 2015 in collaboration with Centre for Capacity Building of Volunteer Organisation (CCBVO). Rajshahi Teachers’ Training College (RTTC) provided academic support to the program with their training and teaching resources.
